The Northeast Regional Engagement Center welcomed a new director, Tim Stahley on July 10.

Stahley, a northeast Colorado native, will guide the strategy and mission of the Center, a regional partnership between the Colorado State University System, Northeastern Junior College and Morgan Community College.

Founded in 2010 in Sterling, Colorado, the Center serves to convene conversations and connect rural communities in the northeast region to CSU faculty, research and expertise, with initiatives related to critical local needs.

“As director of residence life at Northeastern Junior College, I worked to create a positive campus experience in support of higher student engagement and graduation,” said Stahley. “It’s this student and learner-focused direction that I will bring to the Center and our focus on supporting lifelong learning, healthy aging, economic development, and community initiatives.”

The Center is part of the Office of Engagement and Extension and Stahley will report to Kathay Rennels, interim VP.

“Our partnership in the Regional Engagement Center is a model of CSU’s work in communities across Colorado. Along with the Sturm Collaboration Campus in Castle Rock, our centers create unique community resources for education and training. We are excited to welcome Tim to the team and continue building our partnerships and offerings,” Rennels said.

Stahley brings a range of experiences to the role including agriculture, business operations, and higher education. He also served as state president of Colorado FFA, and holds a bachelor of science in agricultural leadership from Oklahoma State University.
