CSU Extension publishes 2021 Agriculture Custom Rates Report

A "Welcome to Colorful Colorado" sign greets passersby at the state border. Dry, golden fields and low mountains extend into the distance.

Every year, Colorado State University Extension conducts a survey of the custom rates charged for various crop and livestock operations and lease arrangements in Colorado over the previous production year. This detailed pricing information can serve as a critical tool for producers and agribusiness owners seeking to make informed decisions about their business operations.

In 2021, data was collected by the CSU Extension Agriculture and Business Management Team from agricultural producers, landowners and managers, lenders, agricultural consultants and machine operators, in addition to Extension agents. Results from more than 270 respondents were combined with anecdotal data to provide a comprehensive view of yearly agricultural service pricing and lease arrangements.
